Vernon Man Facing Several Charges After Domestic, Cops Say

He has other active cases, records indicate.

A Vernon man with an extensive criminal history is facing a half-dozen charges after a Monday-morning domestic incident, police said.

Police said Brian Baddeley, 31, was taken into custody after the incident at his 155 West Main St. apartment at the Springville Mill complex.

Police responded to the incident at 2:01 a.m. on Monday, according to an arrest report. When officers arrived, they heard a man yelling and a woman crying, according to an arrest report.

Officers had to yell several times themselves to get Baddeley to crack the door open, but he refused to open the door further until officers forced it open, according to an arrest report.

He then wrestled with officers before being taken into custody.
Baddeley allegedly was arguing with a woman, threw her down and grabbed her in a choke hold, according to an arrest report.

Police said he has been charged with:

• Interfering.
• Disorderly conduct.
• Third-degree assault.
• Second-degree threatening.
• Second-degree strangulation.
• First-degree unlawful restraint.

Baddeley has six other active cases ranging from larceny to probation violation to criminal possessor of a pistol to DUI, according to court records.
