Lack of Cab Fare Turns into Charge for Hartford Man

He took a ride to Vernon on Saturday, police said.

A Hartford man is facing a sixth-degree larceny charge after he took a cab ride into Vernon and had just a third of the fare on him and no other way to pay the balance, police said. 

Stacey Thomas, 74, was brought to town from his home on Williams Street in Hartford via taxi at 5:13 a.m. on Saturday, police said. When he arrived in

Vernon, he had just $20 and the fare was $60, police said. 
He also had marijuana on him and was charged with possession of the drug, police said.
