Man Charged With Multiple Counts of ATM Fraud

He was allegedly using a family member's card, police said.

A Vernon man is facing 20 counts of automated teller fraud after his arrest  this week, police said.

William Cianci, 33, who Vernon police say has no current address, is due in court on April 16. He was taken into custody on a warrant on Monday, police said.

In addition to the 20 counts of ATM fraud, he has been charged with third-degree larceny, police said.

Vernon police said they received a call on Jan. 17 from fraud investigators  from People's United Bank about Ciani using a family member's ATM card without authorization.

He allegedly made more than $2,300 worth of withdrawals without permission toward the end of 201, police said.

The withdrawals were allegedly made at ATM machines in Vernon, police said.
