Jennifer Huff, Neighbor

First and foremost I am a Mom.  A proud Vernon Mom with three of the most spectacular children in the world...it's true:)  My older son, almost 12, is my first taste of tweenism or tweenitis.  Each day with him is a delicate balance between being Mommy and letting go...it's not so easy.  My 9 year old daughter is a delight and is very much her own girl.  She aspires to dabble in entomology, wormology (I realize that this is not the correct term, but around here it makes perfect sense) and parasitic microbiology...you know, the usual. She makes me smile.  And then there is the little guy.  Just over two years ago, I turned 40...by the time I was 41...I was a "new again" Mom.  I tease that I was in the geriatric section of the maternity ward, as I was twice the age of many Moms to be that were walking the halls laboring along with me.  The panic attack that consumed me when I found out that I was pregnant has long since disappeared as I am discovering the jubilation of becoming a "new again" Mom.  The older children have embraced their brother with such joy and we have all become so much closer.  

I love, love, love living here in Vernon with my partner Dan and the kids.  Dan has a daughter as well and when she is here, the house is filled with even more love and laughter.  I also work right here in Vernon as a dialysis nurse.  I have been at my job for over 14 years....oh my, 14 years....I was in my 20's when I started!!  Anyway, I love the people and I love what I do. 

My spare time...*insert giggle at the thought of actual spare time*  is spent taking walks around the beautiful trails of our town, reading (I swear I will finish a book at some point), watching meaningless tv shows and writing...oh how I love to write...just hoping I squeeze my writing in when I can.

Speaking of work....I have to be there in 15 minutes....gotta go, but I look forward to hanging around on Vernon.patch.com and giving a perspective or two on Tweenitis, mommyisms, daily struggles and life here in Vernon.
