There are 3 Subways in Vernon. I think its OK to have more than one of each business because itRead More creates convenience for everyone. These franchaises peform studies to determine if business will do well before actually putting them in place. It seems to be working. Now for my recommendation for this property. I agree with others that the foundation should be taken up and land be left clear. Its unreasobable that the town has not forced movment on this property since the 1994 fire 19 years ago.

I just noticed 2 pieces of the foundation fell over...who ever owns it should clean it up or give itRead More to the town.

If the Stop and Shop parking area could also be used, it might be a good place for a Wendy's. IRead More keep hearing rumors of a Wendy's for Vernon being considered but haven't seen any concrete evidence that such a thing is going to happen. An IHop would also be great but obviously this building is way too small for that!

It is a shame that this location really is not commercially attractive due to the current market.Read More Perhaps changing the zoning and converting the property to residential could be an alternative.

Malloy and Segarra are both holding their shovels wrong. You can tell they never really used one.Read More Their left hand grip is rotated to a position that will surely give them both hernias and back problems if they ever try to do real work... The guy leftmost in the pic shows the correct way.

This has little to do with energy policy and everything to do with reaching into your pocket to takeRead More your money. So, how's that "blue state" thing working out for ya?

Another stupid idea from the politicians in this state (read Democrats) that will hurt residents ofRead More CT! We already pay more in taxes on average than residents of every other state in the country. We are in the middle of the worst recession in nearly a 100 years, and these guys want to raise taxes, yet again? Wasn't Dan Malloy's record tax increase of 2011 enough? This is how most people heat their homes. This will do nothing but further hinder economic growth. The politicians in this state (again, read Democrats) don't have a clue about how to help the economy and fellow CT residents. Every single politician who supports this should be voted out of office!
