… well, take his place.
The Rockville Community Alliance is looking for someone to play the iconic character and lead the Push, Pull, Peddle Patriotic Parade at the annual July in the Sky fireworks event on July 3 in Downtown Rockville.
The parade traditionally starts at about 7:30 p.m.
Bryan Flint, who normally plays Uncle Sam, is out of town that night, so the RCA, which sponsors July in the Sky with the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department, is recruiting a replacement for this year.
The RCA is also looking for general volunteers for July In The Sky. That night, Rockville becomes a block party featuring food cooked by downtown merchants and specialized food vendors, a variety of activities and musical entertainment and the fireworks display.
The event begins at 6 and the fireworks usually begin shortly after dusk. They are shot off from the Fox Hill Tower overlooking Downtown Rockville.
