Rotary Meeting to Feature Former UConn Interim AD

The meeting is scheduled for April 16.

The Rotary Club of Rockville has announced that Paul Pendergast, the former interim athletic director at the University of Connecticut, will be the club’s special guest speaker at its weekly lunch meeting on Monday, April 16 at The R House Restaurant in Vernon.

In his remarks, Pendergast’s will touch on a variety of topics relating to UConn athletics. He will also take questions from the audience.

Pendergast currently serves as UConn’s director of corporate and community relations. Earlier this year, he was appointed the co-chairman of the committee created by the university to conduct a national search for a permanent athletic director at UConn, which led to the hiring of Warde Manuel.

The meeting is open to the public. The weekly meetings take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. R House is located at 520 Hartford Turnpike in Vernon.

A few years ago, Pendergast was recognized by Rotary as a Paul Harris Fellow for his support of the efforts of all Rotarians in addressing critical humanitarian needs.
