Rotary Club of Rockville Wins Major Award

The club was recognized for its service record.

The Rotary Club of Rockville has received the highest honor a Rotary Club can receive.

During the club’s weekly meeting on Monday, Mike Barnett, Rotary's assistant district governor, presented the Rockville club, which includes residents from Vernon, Ellington and Tolland, with the Rotary Presidential Citation with Distinction.

Rockville Rotary is the only club in the area to earn the distinction.

Rockville Rotary received the honor because of its success in implementing several community service, vocational service, club service and international service activities. The club has received the Rotary Presidential Citation in the past, but this is the first occasion in which it received the Rotary Presidential Citation with Distinction.
