Entertainment Lineup Set for National Night Out

A variety of music will be featured.

The entertainment lineup has been determined for the National Night Out celebration.

The event is scheduled for  Tuesday, August 2 from 5 to 8 pm. in Downtown Rockville. The event is free and open to the public.

Here is the lineup:
 
• Deschamplain Brothers.  The Ellington band will perform oldies from the 50s, 60s and into the 70s from 5 to  6 pm.  The group's sound  includes vocals, keyboards, guitar and drums.  The group performs at senior housing and rehab centers in the area. 
 
• Tru 2 Life. The hip-hop duo from Hartford, will perform from 6 to 6:30 pm.  Since 2005, Tru 2 Life has performed at various events and at juvenile detention centers.  The duo also teaches young people how to use and discover their artistic gifts.  The group performed at JesusFest last year.
 
• ETX. The classic rock band from Manchester, will perform from 7 to 8 pm.  The group has been together since 1999, playing at community and Christian events across Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts.  The six-person group includes vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums.  ETX performed at JesusFest last year.

The Rockville Community Alliance, in conjunction
with the Vernon Police Department, the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department and the Vernon Community Network, is sponsoring the local segment of National Night Out.

The rain date is Aug. 3.

It is an annual family oriented event has attracted thousands of people over the years.

There will be free entertainment, free exhibits, free demonstrations and free food.
