Vernon Campus Notes - Graduates and Honorees

Vernon resident Peter Timbrell graduated from Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Brittany Jones from Vernon was named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the spring 2013 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List.


Nicole E. Ciampa of Vernon is on Cazenovia College's 2013 spring semester Dean's List. Ciampa is a sophomore majoring in criminal justice and homeland security studies. Ciampa is a graduate of Rockville High School.

Joshua Robichaud, a resident of Vernon, CT, was named to the Dean's List at Fairfield University for the Spring 2013 semester.



The following student was among the 176 graduates from the Loomis Chaffee Class of 2013: 

Arianna Calabrese of Vernon, was an inductee of the Cum Laude Society and the National Independent School Honor Society. She received the Junior English Prize, the Founder's Prize, Junior English Department honors, Science Department honors, the Chéruy Senior Foreign Language Prize, and Senior Mathematics and History Department honors. She was a peer counselor, editor-in-chief of the World Bulletin, was awarded a Gold Key Award for sculpture at the Connecticut Scholastic Arts Award Show, and was an Exhibited Student Artist for her oil painting.

Hartwick College sophmore Rose Snyder, of Vernon, daughter of Ellen and Joseph Snyder, has been named to the spring term Dean's List at Hartwick.

• 

Brian Shoemaker from Vernon was named to the Spring 2013 Dean's List at Wake Forest University.

• 

The following students graduated from the University of New Haven in May:
Brittany Jones of Vernon received a B.S. in Biology and a B.S. in Forensic Science.

Nicole Samsonenko of Vernon, a third-year student in the 3-D digital graphics program in the  Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, made the Dean's List for the Spring 2013 quarter.

Kevin J. Murray of Vernon received the James V. Masi Biomedical Engineering Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England University. The award is presented to a graduating senior who demonstrates a mastery of biomedical engineering and an appreciation for the societal role of an engineer beyond their professional duties.

Haley Donahue of Vernon was named to the Merit List of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga., for the 2013 spring semester.

• 

Arianna Calabrese, a senior from Vernon has been named to the High Honor Roll at the Loomis Chaffee School.

• 

Andrew Chase of Vernon was one of nearly 1,300 students to graduate from Western Connecticut State University this spring. The commencement ceremony took place on the Westside campus with 5,000 parents and other guests in attendance. WCSU President James W. Schmotter wished wished the graduates well and shook the hand of every student who walked across the stage.

Kaitlyn O'Gara of Vernon was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science: Psychology, at Sacred Heart University's Annual Commencement on May 18th and 19th. Approximately 1,500 graduates received degrees from Sacred Heart University this year.

• 

Alyssa Carpenter of Vernon was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Plymouth State University at their 142nd Commencement ceremony on May 18, 2013.
