"So what's that pile for?" a visitor asked, referring to display in the hallway at Center Road School.
"Oh it's the lost and found," an office staff member said.
"Is it me or is that pile huge?"
"It's a big pile."
So the pile - that features lonely acticles of clothing from the winter looking to go back home - sits. Staff members keep hoping a passing student recognizes something and claims it, but mostly it sits.
In a short while, the stuff left behind will be gathered up and donated to the local shelter, school staff members said.
Then, the pile starts to build again over the next month with the warm-weather clothes.
It has all become a rite of passage of sorts, school staff members said.
