The program is being implemented with a combination of funds from the Board of Education budget and Alliance District grant money from the state.

June 12, 2013

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Vernon Public Schools is pleased to announce that we are adding full-day kindergarten to all of our elementary schools for the 2013-14 school year.

All-day kindergarten will provide our youngest students with a strong foundation for future success. With the new Common Core Standards and high learning expectations for student achievement, full-day kindergarten will benefit our kindergarten students and give them the instructional time needed to be successful learners.

I am delighted to share this good news with you and look forward to the implementation of this new full-day kindergarten program. If you have not registered your child for kindergarten, I strongly encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Mary Conway, Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools
