RHS Marching Ram Band To Feature Ambitious Program This Season

The band showed its stuff on Monday.

It was out of Africa and over to Rockville High School on Monday for the annual showcase rehearsal on the week that school starts.

The RHS Marching Ram Band has taken on the African theme for its 2013-14 performances, something director Darcy Davis said was a little "Lion King-ish" with its own twists and turns.

The band played portions of two numbers - each heavily involving both instruments and colorguard - "Serengeti" and "Gazelle."

The latter is an ambitious number that stretches from one 25-yard-line to the other.

The band will have its first on-field performance on Sept. 13 at the RHS football opener.

The 2013 RHS drum majors are Jackie Ose and Josh Chaffee.
