New RHS Principal, Assistant Superintendent Introduced

Superintendent of Schools Mary Conway has officially introduced a new principal at Rockville High School and a new assistant superintendent.

The Vernon Public Schools District is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Principal of Rockville High School as of July 1, 2013.

Mr. Andrew Rockett is presently serving as Principal of Killingly High School. Other previous positions held include Assistant Principal at both Manchester High School and the State of Connecticut Technical High School in New Britain and Science Teacher at Windsor Locks Public Schools. Mr. Rockett received his JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law, his MA from the University of Connecticut. 

Mr. Rockett completed his coursework for Educational Leadership and Executive Leadership at the University of Connecticut. Mr. Rockett’s other professional experience includes Commander in the United States Navy Reserve (Retired) and a practicing attorney.Mr. Rockett brings teaching and leadership experience and a deep commitment to improving education for all students.

Mr. Rockett is very excited for this new opportunity to lead Rockville High School as Principal.Please join Vernon Public Schools in welcoming Mr. Rockett to Rockville High School.

The Vernon Public Schools District is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Assistant Superintendent as of July 1, 2013.

Mr. Jeffrey Burt is presently serving as the Social Studies Curriculum Leader 6-12 in Fairfield Public Schools.

Other previous positions held include Assistant Principal at Montville Public Schools and Teacher at Darien Public Schools. Mr. Burt received his BA from College of Wooster in Ohio, MA from Teachers College in New York, and 6thYear Degree from Sacred Heart University.

He is presently completing theEducational Leadership Program at the University of Connecticut. 

Mr. Burt is very excited for the opportunity to lead Vernon Public Schools as Assistant Superintendent and to deliver top-quality leadership to the district. Together with Mr. Burt, the new Assistant Superintendent, Vernon Public schools will have in place a highly talented administration team.
