Globetrotter Spins the Ball, Dunks on Bullying At Center Road School
Handles Franklin visited the school on Tuesday.
Harlem Globetrotter Handles Franklin graced the gym at Center Road School on Tuesday with a little basketball magic and a serious message about bullying.
It's called the ABCs of bullying, a big theme of the Globetrotters speaking engagements. They are:
• Action.
• Bravery.
• Compassion.
The session was not without the Globetrotters' trademark wizardry. Handles, well, did a little handling magic with a red, white and blue ball, and involved students from Pre-K to the fifth grade - and even a couple of teachers.
Handles also reminded the students to believe in their dreams, a reference to him seeing the Trotters on a Scooby Doo cartoon once and dreaming about playing for the team.
