Campus Notes: Grads and Honors

The latest news from campus.

At the University of Rhode Island's 127th Commencement, more than 3,200 undergraduate and 770 graduate students became the University's newest alumni.
The following residents were among the students who received their undergraduate or graduate degrees. Note that many students have received multiple degrees:
Ashley R. Mccann of Vernon received a BS in Biological Sciences, a BS in Geology and Geological Oceanography and a BS in Wildlife Conservation Biology.
Danielle Marie DuBois of Vernon received a BS in Textiles Fashion Merchandising and Design.
Michelle D. Robertson of Vernon, received a BS in Global Business Management.

Samantha Schoeneberger, a member of the class of 2013 at Connecticut College and a resident of Vernon, has been named to the Dean's High Honors list for the 2013 spring semester.

Christopher ViVenzio, a Sophomore in Undeclared from Vernon.

The following students received degrees from Western New England University on May 18, 2013.
Kristen E. Brierley of Vernon graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. Brierley graduated Cum Laude. This honor signifies scholastic excellence and is awarded at graduation to students who have achieved a grade point average between 3.30 and 3.60.
Kevin J. Murray of Vernon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree. Murray graduated Cum Laude. This honor signifies scholastic excellence and is awarded at graduation to students who have achieved a grade point average between 3.30 and 3.60.
Patrick J. Pilkons of Vernon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. Pilkons graduated Summa Cum Laude, which signifies scholastic excellence and is awarded at graduation to students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.80 and above.
Stephen M. Rizzo of Vernon graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Goodwin College conferred 417 Associate in Science degrees to students on June 6, 2013, during a moving Commencement Ceremony.
This year, Goodwin celebrated its largest ever graduating class, with 570 students receiving Bachelor' or Associate degrees or certificates. In total, Goodwin awarded 584 degrees or certificates, with several students receiving multiple accolades.
The degrees were conferred at the College's Commencement Ceremony, held on the River Campus in East Hartford. Thousands of people gathered for the event, which took place under and oversized tent.

Stonehill College recently named Vernon resident Peter D. Timbrell, a member of the Class of 2013, to its Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester.
To qualify for the Dean's List at Stonehill, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

The following students have been named to Dean's List at Western New England for the spring semester of 2013. Students are named to the Dean's List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Polina Yakushchenko, a Health Science major and resident of Vernon Rockville, CT was among more than 650 students from Saint Francis University who made the Spring 2013 Dean's List.

Joshua Robichaud, a resident of Vernon, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairfield University's College of Arts and Sciences at the 63rd Commencement ceremonies which took place on May 19, 2013, on the campus of Fairfield University.
