Video: Thunderstorm Band Makes an Impolite Visit

The system brought with it high winds and a lot of rain

A mean thunderstorm band moved into Vernon at about 4 p.m. on Friday and brought with it high wionds and torrential rain.

Water was running down the roadways and trees were swaying - and in the case of some weakened by last October's snowstorm - cracking and falling.

Three sections of road were closed and 2,000 Connecticut Light & Power Co. customers lost power.
