VYBO Registration Sessions Scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday

Another is slated for next week.

The Vernon Youth Baseball Organization registration sessions continue this week for its 2012 Spring/Summer leagues.

The VYBO is also acceprting applications for managing and coaching positions.

The registration dates are Feb. 7, 9 and 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Vernon Center Middle School.

Here are the highlights:

• Vernon Babe Ruth Registration:

The Vernon Babe Ruth League has two divisions - Babe Ruth for players 13 to 15, which is an in-town league that schedules approximately 17 games during the regular season and a postseason tournament, and Senior Babe Ruth for players 16 to 18, which is a recreational travel league.

The cost is $95 per player ($80 for each additional player in the same family). A birth certificate is required for the first year of participation. Registration forms for the 2012 season are available in the Handouts section at www.vybo.net.

Registrations will not be accepted without payment in full.

• Travel team tryout registration:

The Jaycee-TDBank travel league has been organized so that players up to age 19 may play baseball and have the benefit of regularly scheduled competitive opposition in three different age groups: Prep (13-year-olds), Junior (14 to 15) and Senior (19 and younger).

The cost is $135 per player. A deposit of $95 is due at the time of registration to reserve a tryout spot.

• American Legion:

Connecticut American Legion baseball is a competitive travel league created for the purpose of providing players with the opportunity to develop their baseball skills and leadership qualities.

The Junior Legion team is for players 17 and younger.

The cost is $225 per player.

A deposit of $95 is due at the time of registration to reserve a tryout spot.

The Senior Legion team is for players 19 and younger.

The exact cost has yet to be determined but a deposit of $95 is due at the time of registration to reserve a tryout spot.

The Senior American Legion team is not a direct product of the VYBO.
