Three Focus Groups Regarding Potential Reconfiguration are in the Books

It's three down and one to go this week regarding focus groups on any possible reconfiguration of the local system, specifically Vernon's five elementary schools.

And there is another next week.

Superintendent of Schools Mary Conway has scheduled focus group sessions in each of the town's five elementary schools to review potential courses of action.

Center Road School's focus group session is scheduled for Thursday night from 5:30 to 6:30 and Skinner Road's on Tuesday during the same hour.

So far, the sessions have been well-attended. About 150 were at Lake Street School and 75 were at both Northeast and Maple Street schools. Many parents have saidf they do not want the neighborhood school lineup broken up.
