Ram Scoreboard: Two More Wins on The Court and The First Loss on the Rink

The latest RHS action.

The Bolton/Coventry/Rockville hockey team dropped its first game of the season on Friday against Newington/Berlin/Manchester. 

The final score was 2-0.

Here is the scoring summary:  

1st period

No scoring. 

2nd period

NBM - Dante Gugliotti from Mitch Pitkin at 11:23. 

3rd period

NBM Matt Roberts from Mitch Pitkin at 11:51. 

BCR goalie - Connor McGrath, 15 saves. NBM goalie - Cam Criniti, 14 saves. 

BCR is now 4-1 and NBM is 5-3. 

Coach's comment: "This was a rematch of last weeks overtime thriller in which BCR prevailed. This match up could have gone either way but tonight the puck bounced NBM's way and the season series is now tied. NBM played great defense as BCR had several chances."



Robert O'Gara offers this summary of RHS boys basketball: 

On Tuesday the RHS boys team (3-1) took on the Tolland Eagles (0-4) at home in front of a full gym joined by the RHS Pep Band where they jumped out to a first quarter lead of 28-5.
 
Tolland struggled with it offense and was plagued by fouls and did not recover as the Rams went on to win 59-42. The Rams were led by Tyler Johnson and Adam Barselau who scored ten points apiece. Coolidge Edwards added 8 points followed by Sean O’Gara and Tarchee Brown with 7 points each. Jacob Kennedy added 6 points along with Brian Ducas who scored 4 points. Anthony Santiago put in 3 points with Charles Artis added 1 point to close out the scoring for the Rams.

On Friday the Rams traveled to Hebron for an away game at RHAM High School. 
The Rams struggled with their offense in the first quarter as RHAM led 8-6. At the half the Rams were down by one to RHAM 27-26. For the third and fourth quarter the shots started to fall for the Rams which was combined with some nice defensive sets forced RHAM to take long shots as they struggled to get the ball inside and finish. The Rams picked up their fifth win 66-56.

For the Rams, Tarchee Brown had 19 points followed by Tyler Johnson’s 14 points. Brian Ducas added 12 points along with Adam Barselau who along Sean O’Gara who put in 8 points and 6 points respectively. Jacob Kennedy added 3 points with Andrew Foreman and Raheim Huff scoring 2 points each.

The Rams (5-1) will next face Hartford Public on Tuesday at Hartford Public High School.
