Nicole St. Briand paced Fermi with 11 points.

Hockey

By defeating Conard 3-1 on Friday, Bolton/Coventry/Rockville improved to 8-2 and clinched a spot in the tournament.

Here is the scoring summary:

First Period

BCR - Hunter Byram at 3:26.  BCR - Dan Hansen from Seth Alexanderowicz at 5:06.

Conard - Mark Ehnor from Grayson Lacroix and Quinn Lacroix at 7:44, power play.

Second Period

BCR - Bruce Smith from Paul Bates at 12:23.

Third Period

No scoring.

BCR goalie Connor McGrath had 26 saves. Conard goalie Alexander Khan had 21 saves.

Conard is now 2-7.

Coach's comment:  "We jumped on Conard right away until we took two undisciplined penalties at the same time giving Conard a 5-on-3 advantage, where they scored their only goal. This gave them momentum and it became a good hockey game until the final buzzer. Connor McGrath kept us in it."

Boys Basketball

Robert O'Gara offers this summary of the RHS boys:

The Rams got back on track with a win Friday night against Fermi High School in Enfield. Previously the Rams dropped the last two away games against Hartford Public 89-58 on Jan. 14, and a close one to Rocky Hill, 68-65, on Jan. 17.

On Friday, the Rams offense was led by Tarchee Brown with 24 points followed by Jacob Kennedy who dropped in 19 points. Raheim Huff added 9 points along with Sean O’Gara who followed with 7 points. Adam Barselau put in 6 points along with Anthony Santiago and Brian Ducas who both chipped in with 5 points apiece.

The rest of scoring was rounded out by Tyler Johnson with 4 points followed by Andrew Foreman with 2 points. The Rams connected on nine three-point attempts with Brown and Kennedy hitting four each and Santiago adding one.

The JV team picked up a solid win as well. The Freshman Team had the night off as Fermi does not have a freshman program this year.

The Rams have a busy schedule this week with three away games. On Monday night they are away at South Windsor followed by a game at Ellington on Wednesday and on Thursday they play at Bloomfield High School. All varsity games start at 7 p.m.
