Ram Baseball Season Ends With Loss at Foran

Rockville falls in state tourney, 8-0.

The Rockville High School baseball team fell to Joseph Foran of Milford on Wednesday 8-0 in the second round of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference tournament.

Kamyno Royal and Kevin Babcock each had two hits for Rockville, including a doube for Babcock.  Alex Schwarz also added a hit for the Rams.  Alex Mann got on base with two walks for his only two at bats.

Rockville assistant coach Greg Caron said that despite the loss, the team still had an excellent season.

“We set our goal every season as making the state tournament and being competitive every game and we did that,” Caron said. “Not only did we make the tournament, but we knocked out a very good Bristol Eastern team.  We had a great group of kids that worked hard all season and made us proud.  They have nothing to hang their heads about.”

The Rams featured eight seniors.  Mann, Babcock, Schwarz, Bryan Leonard, Taylor Botteron, Pat Witham, Tyler Glidden, Kamyno Royal will all be graduating later in June.

Chris Watts, Ryan Lovett, Kurt Annelli and Rami Jadallah are expected to lead the Rams next season.

Rockville finished the regular season with a 12-8 record and had a stunning win in the first round of the state tournament with a 1-0 victory over Bristol Eastern on Tuesday.
