All systems are go at the Vernon public schools.
Superintendent of Schools Mary Conway said the school year will officially begin today for staff members and Thursday and Friday for students.
The start of school had been delayed a day because of power outages caused by Hurricane Irene.
The Annual Staff Convocation is scheduled for today at Rockville High School.
Students in grades Pre-K through 6 and grade 9 will report to their respective schools on Thursday.
Seventh- and eighth-graders and 10th-, 11th- and 12th-graders will report on Friday.
Conway issued a letter to parents and guardians about the matter on Tuesday.
