Jennifer Slater has been named the 2012 Teacher of the Year for the Vernon public school system.
Slater has ben a technology teacher at Vernon Center Middle School for for the past nine years.
Here was the tribute to her posted in the awards ceremony program:
She entered into the field of education because both of her parents were teachers and she saw their dedication to the field.
Her knowledge of technology, her outgoing personality, her
involvement in the fabric of the school through PBIS, the Advisor
- Advisee program and the climate committee, and her
desire to help all students succeed have earned her this honor
as Teacher of the Year for the vernon public schools.
