It Was All Aboard the Bus at Safety Town

Bus safety was among the lessons on Thursday.

Children enrolled in the Safety Town program on Thursday recieved a few lessons on how to deal with strangers.

They also made their own paper school buses, a preview to learning all about school bus safety on the real thing.

The children were able to practice the bus safety tips they learned by taking a ride on a school bus.

This year, Safety Town, sponsored by the Vernon Police Department and the Junior Women's Club, took place at Lake Street School.

The program is designed to expose students entering kindergarten to all types of safety issues. It has become an institution and many of the parents remembered their experiences at Safety Town when dropping their childen off this year.
