Conway Receives Major Award from UConn

The Ed School names her Superintendent of the Year.

Superintendent of Schools Mary Conway has been recognized by the University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education Alumni Society as the Superintendent of the Year.

Conway received her award at a recent dinner at the university's south campus.

The annual awards dinner "formally recognizes the achievements of some of our outstanding graduates," said Dean Thomas DeFanco and Neag Alumni Society President Debra Hultgren in remarks printed in the program. "Our award recipients are educators and professionals who have made significant contributions across all levels of education."

Conway received her doctorate degree from UConn in 2005 and her sixth year in 1995.

She became Vernon's superintendent of schools in July 2010.

Conway was recognized for the UConn award at a recent school board meeting.
