Big Road Win for United Hockey Team

RMS defeats Wilton.

The Rockville/Manchester/Stafford United hockey team defeated Wilton 3-2 on Wednesday at the Ridgefield Winter Garden.

At 13:13 of the opening period, John Sellew put RMS on the board with an unassisted goal.

RMS scored twice in the second as Sellew found the net from Seth Alexanderowicz at 10:47 and Christopher Stauder converted a pass from J.R. Piretti at 11:52.

RMS then had to thwart a Wilton comeback in the third as Cole Rance scored from Alex Pagillario at the four-minute Mark and then Rance assisted on a Pagillario goal just 26 seconds later for the Warriors.

Matt Roy had 22 saves in goal for United.

Wilton Goalie Nick Wells 20 saves

RMS is now 2-3 while Wilton dropped to 0-5.

RMS is scheduled to play next against Newington at the Newington Ice Arena on Saturday at 8:20 p.m.

"Wilton was certainly much faster than we were," United coach Christian Stevenson said. "We were able to capitalize on the very few mistakes they made. We were also very fortunate to hold off their very strong third period rally. Matt Roy's ability to scramble and make key saves allowed us to get the road win."
