AD Position at Rockville High Could be Scaled Down as Part of Reorganization

The plan is up for discussion at tonight's school board meeting.

An administrative reorganization plan that would eliminate the Rockville High School athletic director's position as a full-time entity is scheduled for discussion at the Board of Education meeting tonight.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Maple Street School.

The reorganization is part of a multi-tiered plan designed to potentially save more than $300,000, according to information supplied by school administrators.

An outline of the reorganization is feature in the attached chart.

One notable segment of the plan is to make the AD at the high school a stipend position and absorb it into a teaching position - $10,000 in addition to a regular salary.

The reorganization is on the agenda as general business.

Other general business items on the agenda include:

• A donation to Maple Street School.
• The six-year capital plan.
• Approval of the 2013-14 calendar.
• Honor roll letters to students.
