Conway taught math at Windsor High School, and after several years as a teacher she moved on to an administrative career.

Conway said her main goal for 2011 is to raise local students' literacy rates from kindergarten through high school and a detailed plan has been put in place in which teachers would work with the grade level under their own to better prepare students for the next year, effectively making the curriculum a multilateral effort by students and teachers. It has become known among educators as the revision cycle.
