I'm On the (Col)LEDGE

Senior decisions are stressful and plentiful.

Whoever said that after college applications were sent out senior year would become less stressful lied.  Now that acceptance letters are finally rolling in the pressure is on to choose the college that will prepare you for the rest of your life. The deadlines for making choices that will affect your future in such a large way are coming up quick!  Although it’s scary, in order to choose the perfect college for you, patience and open-mindedness are a must.  Making the trips to Accepted Students days is always a good idea.  This is a way to see the options your college can offer you through the eyes of actual students that go there.

Although you may have in mind the college you want to go to, it is important that you visit all of your options. The school that you might think you want to attend may be nice, but the other schools you have to choose from may end up surprising you.  Keeping all of your options open until your final decision is made is extremely important.  I know that for me, my mind is set on going to Ithaca College.  My parents say that although I have my mind made, I am making visits to both Ithaca and Sacred Heart University.  After I have seen both of the campuses and spoken to representatives from each I will then be able to properly make my decision.

After finally sending in that deposit, remember to keep working hard!  Although you can finally breathe a sigh of relief, this is the time to remember to continue to push through until the end of the year!  Finally deciding the college you may mean you will begin to get senioritis.  Senioritis is an epidemic that is slowly beginning to creep into the class of 2013.  The saying “I don’t feel like it” is becoming more and more common.  Homework will become subject to being left at school and long forgotten.  The months of spring and beginnings of summer will begin to tease students that are still sitting in class.  As soon as the snow melts thoughts of school and the work it brings will be pushed farther and farther to the backs of our brains.
