Vernon Trash and Recycling Schedule for Thanksgiving 2012
The pickups have been altered for the holiday.
The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Trash and recycling normally collected on Thursday will be collected a day early on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Trash and recycling normally collected on Friday will be collected the following Monday - Nov. 26 - along with that day’s route.
Excess trash and recycling can be brought to the Transfer Station on Hockanum Boulevard free of charge (permit and punch cards would not be required) year-round. The normal hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
The Transfer Station will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
