Vernon Town Council, School Board, PZC to Meet This Week

Council to decide on appropriations for school building repairs.

Here are the highlights of the major town meetings this week:

Vernon Board of Education
Monday, Feb. 28

Agenda Highlights:

• Recognition of Rockville High School students for awards received at the Westminster Kennel Club show.

• Review and vote on the policy for acceptable computer networks use on social networking sites.

• Review and update Board of Education calendar.



Vernon Town Council
Tuesday, March 1

Vernon Town Hall

Agenda highlights:

• Mayor Jason McCoy has proposed that Nancy Osborn be appointed to the Housing Authority for a term expiring in 2016.

• McCoy has proposed that Lori Robeau be appointed to the Vernon Arts Commission for an indefinite term.

• The Town Council will decide on three requests from the school system to appropriate money from the Education Capital Non-Recurring fund:

1. $50,000 to replace two bridge roofs at Center Road School.

2. $25,000 to repair the exterior gymnasium walls at Center Road School.

3. $50,000 to repair rest rooms at Rockville High School.
