Town Council Adopts Budget Review Schedule
Public comment will be taken on March 24 and April 9. The annual meeting is slated for April 24.
The Town Council on Tuesday approved a meeting schedule to review and eventually approve the budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
All meetings, except the annual town budget meeting, are scheduled to take place at Town Hall.
Here is the slate:
• March 22, 7:30 p.m.
• March 24, 9 a.m. call to order, public comment session at 9:05 p.m.
• March 28, 7:30 p.m.
• April 4, 7:30 p.m.
• April 9, call to order at 7:30 p.m., public comment session at 7:35 p.m.
• April 24, Annual Town Budget Meeting, Rockville High School, 7 p.m.
Mayor George Apel said that meetings to review requests by department heads are complete and that all department heads have been informed of his cuts.
Apel said the numbers should be finalized this week and he hopes he can present the budget ahead the March 15 deadline.
A schedule on what line items will be reviewed on what days has yet to be determined.
