The Budget is in

Mayor Jason McCoy presented his recommended budget on Tuesday evening at Town Hall.

On Tuesday, a small audience listened at Town Hall and others watched live on the Community Voice Channel as Mayor Jason McCoy presented his recommended Town budget for fiscal year 2011-2012 to the Town Council. McCoy unveiled the $79,352,355 bottom line, an increase of $630,896, or 0.8 percent during the Town Council meeting.

If approved by the council without changes, the budget would drop the current tax rate of 30.02 mills to 29.96 mills.

In addition, members of the State legislative delegation representing Vernon were present to answer Council member questions regarding Gov. Daniel Malloy's state budget proposal.
