East Lyme Republican First Selectman Paul Formica announced on Sunday that he will seek his party's nomination for the 2nd District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, The Day of New London reported.
Formica, 58, said he decided to seek the nomination to challenge three-term Democratic incumbent Joseph Courtney after Norwich Republican state Rep. Christopher Coutu backed out of the race on Wednesday to seek the 19th District state Senate seat.
