It's decision time for the Board of Education regarding the school system budget for the 2013-14 fiscal year.
A special meeting of the board is scheduled for tonight at 6. There are two items on the agenda - a public comment section and a vote to approve a budget and send it to Mayor George Apel.
The figure being brought to the table is $51,619,796. The number represents a $3,438,799 - or 7.14 percent - increase over the $48,180,997 budget for the current fiscal year. Click here to see how the school board arrived at that figure.
Tonight's meeting is scheduled for the school administration building. A copy of the agenda is attached.
The budget must be delivered to the mayor by Friday.
