Update: School Board Calls Special Meeting For Monday
A discussion of the school system's "structure" is on the agenda.
The Board of Education has called a special meeting for Monday at 6 p.m. in the school administration building on School Street.
Two items are on the agenda:
• A discussion and possible action regarding the health insurance carrier bids.
• A discussion and possible action regarding the structure and organization of the local school system.
A copy of the agenda is attached.
The wording is standard for discussion items. Board of Education Chairman Dean Houle said on Thursday that the board requested more information on the concept of restructuriung the school system after a presentation by Superintendent of schools Mary Conway on the topic last month.
Conway said her presentation is designed to be informational. She said the board "may or may not take action."
Conway said her presentation will address what the options are regarding restucturing, the pros and cons of it, and a potential timetable.
