RCA Mayoral Candidate Forum on Tap for Tuesday

Rockville Community Alliance members promising a variety of questions.

The second showcase for the town's four mayoral candidates is scheduled for this week.

The Rockville Community Alliance is hosting a candidate forum at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Senior Center, 26 Park Place.

Organizers said on Sunday that all four candidates will have an equal amount of time to address a number of issues.

The slate is, in a randomly selected order:

• Gordon Paterson, a registered Republican running as an petitioning candidate with no party affiliation. He has sat on numerous boards in town.

• George Apel, the endorsed Republican candidate who is currently the treasurer for the Board of Education.

• Pauline Schaefer, the endorsed Democratic candidate currently sitting on the Town Council.

• James Krupienski, a petitioning candidate and current unaffiliated Town  Council member.

Organizers said topics covered in the questions will include:

• Budgeting.

• Economic development.

• The school system.

• Managing town departments.

• Party politics.

Questions will also be taken from the audience, organizers said.
