Political Season Under Way

Sings will begin popping up on lawns and formal campaigning can begin.

Let the political season begin.

Yes. the yard signs have appeared. Based on a longstanding agreement between the local Republican and Democratic committees, the signs are not put up until Labor day.

Formal campaigning also begins this week.

The ballot order has also been set. With a Democratic governor in office, Democratic mayoral candidate Pauline Schaefer gets the 1A position.

Republican George Apel drew the 1B position. Petitioning candidate James Krupienski has 1C and petitioning candidate Gordon Paterson has 1D.
