Local Republicans Slate Caucus for Wednesday
Regular meeting is scheduled to begin first.
The Vernon Republican Town Committee has scheduled a caucus for Wednesday night.
The caucus is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Town Hall.
The regular town committee meeting is scheduled to begin a half-hour earlier, local Republican Chairman Harold Cummings said. The meeting will then be called into recess for the caucus.
Cummings said the purpose of the caucus is to elect candidates for the Vernon Republican Town committee for the next two years.
The candidates then carry out the functions of the party in town, he said.
