It's Official: Nicholson Taking Over for Apel

Town Council endorsed school board appointment.

William 'Wil' Nicholson already filled one vacancy on the Board of Education.

Now he's filling another.

The Town Council on Tuesday endorsed the Republican Town's Committee's appointment of Nicholson to fill the seat left vacant by George Apel when Apel was elected mayor.

Apel was elected to the school board in 2009 and was in the middle of a term that expires in 2013. Apel had to resign his school board post because the town Charter prevents simultaneous office-holding.

Nicholson filled a vacancy on the school board over the summer that just expired.

Nicholson ran for a two-year seat on the Board of Education but was not elected.

Nicholson has a child who attends Center Road School.
