Holiday Trash and Recycling Schedule Posted
Here is the Vernon trash and recycling schedule for the Christmas and New Year's period.
The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas Day and on Tuesday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day.
Public Works Director Robert Kleinhans said that trash and recycling will not be collected on those days but instead will be collected the days after the holidays - Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 2, respectively, along with that day's regular collection.
Excess trash and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station free of charge year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays 8 am to 4 pm and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
The Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 23 and Sunday, Dec. 30.
