Holiday Trash and Recycling Schedule Announced
Pickups will take place the days after the holidays.
The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas Day and on Tuesday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day.
Public Works Director Robert Kleinhans said on Monday that trash and recycling will not be collected on those days but instead will be collected the days after the holidays - Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 2, respectively, along with that day's regular collection.
Excess trash and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station free of charge year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays 8 am to 4 pm and Sundays noon to 4 pm.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Wednesday, Dec 26, Kleinhans said.
