Dollar Tree Votive Candle Holders Recalled

The store and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission are working together on recall.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Chesapeake, VA.-based Dollar Tree Stores Inc. have announced a voluntary recall of select glass votive candle holders.

About 117,000 were sold nationwide at Dollar Tree stores and affiliate stores from December through April. 

The glass votive candle holders can shatter while in use, posing a fire and laceration hazard to consumers, according to a CPSC news release. Consumers should stop using the votives immediately and return then to the store where the purchase was made immediately, according to the CPSC.

The votives feature frosted are clear glass with French vanilla scented candles. The candle holders are 2.5 inches tall with the model number 976127 and date code 1010 printed on the bottom of the glass.

The votives were manufactured in India and imported by Greenbrier International of Virginia.

The CPSC is still accepting incident or injury reports that are either directly related to the votive recall or involve a different hazard with the same product. Reports can be submitted to www.saferproducts.gov.
