Debate Night Reaction - Vernon's Parties Stick to their Sides

And a former big name in the NFL chimes in on another discussion.

So how did Vernon's respective political parties think the presidential debate went on Wednesday? Vernon Patch asked an officer from each side of the political aisle to chime in with a short reaction. A third opinion emerged that night and shows up at the end, but that's an added surprise.

Democratic Reaction

I know many of my fellow Democrats would have liked the president to be more assertive, but I found him cool, collected, and on-point. Despite initial impressions that he came out ahead, I believe Mr. Romney's misleading and disingenuous presentations of both his own plan and the president's record will ultimately do him no good.

Republican Reaction

I believe Romney did very well and Obama was very flat, appeared to be annoyed. Many of us on the Republican side had been frustrated that Romney did not appear, prior to last night, to be bringing up all of the failures of the Obama administration - that he seemed to be giving Obama a pass.  That all changed last night.  In Romney we saw a leader, one who could take charge, who could make decisions - a true executive. While there has been  much talk about the economy, the lack of jobs, and the failure of Obama to pursue policies which would improve our economy, my personal concern was his lack of understanding and leadership in foreign affairs, Obama is clearly in over his head. Romney, last night, showed that he could stand up and be an advocate for our country, not everyone else's. If you consider last night a job interview (and I have conducted many), based on his performance,  I would not invite Obama back for a second one.

One Reaction out of the Green, er Blue

So in the midst of the the back-and-forth between the two major political parties, former Rockville High School standout and NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski offered his thoughts on another debate when he Tweeted, "Jets brought in Tebow hoping Sanchez would rise to the challenge. They have their answer. Only one choice now."
