The Board of Education has scheduled a budget vote for Monday.

Here is a look at the major meetings in town this week:

The Board of Education's Facilities Committee is scheduled to meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Board of Education conference room, administrations building.

Agenda highlights:

• Six-year capital plan.

The Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting* for Monday at 6 p.m. at the administration building.

Agenda highlights:

• Approval of the six-year capital plan.

• Approval of the 2012-13 budget.

* Includes a community forum.

The Town Council is scheduled to met on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.  at Town Hall.

Agenda highlights:

• Executive session:

1. Pending litigation - Beirn vs. Town of Vernon.
2. Pending litigation - Jonas vs. Town of Vernon. 
3. Pending litigation - Collins vs. Town of Vernon.

• Presentation by Parks and Recreation Director Bruce Dinnie and Mayor George Apel to the Annual Parks and Recreation Awards recipients:
Outstanding Service Award - Hans Peterson; Outstanding Coach Award -
Art Wheelock; and Outstanding Service Award - Hidden Dragon Karate.

• Request to approve Mayor George Apel's candidate for the position of Assistant Town Administrator.
