Woman Charged After Strange Incident Involving a Child

A homeless woman is facing a series of serious charges after a bizarre incident in Rockville on Tuesday, police said.

Police said that at 6:12 p.m. they were summoned to 18 Oak St. for a disturbance. According to an arrest report, a resident and her 2-year-old child were playing outside, and the child went inside.

A "visibly intoxicated" Tamijo Daigneault approached the house, ran past the mother and entered the home, according to an arrest report. She then picked up the child, according to an arrest report.

The mother took the child away from Daigneault and attempted to push her out of the home, according to an arrest report.

A scuffle ensued, police said.

Daigneault is 43 and has no known address, police said. She was uncooperative with police officers as she was taken into custody, an arrest report indicates.

She was held overnight on a $50,000 bond and was to appear in court on Wednesday, police said.

She was charged with risk of injury to a child, home invasion, first-degree burglary, third-degree criminal trespass and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

The child was not injured, police said.
