Woman Arrested for Taking a Bottle of Vodka

It was another incident at Rockville Discount Liquors.

A Vernon woman was caught with a bottle of vodka after a shoplifting complaint at Rockville Discount Liquors, according to an arrest report.

Vernon police said that at 7:01 p.m. on Friday, they went to the store after a shoplifting complaint was filed, according to an arrest report. Officers arrived on the scene to discover that a clerk had followed Maureen Hunter, 36, of 17 Regan St., Apt. 15, toward Brooklyn Street.

She was placed under arrest and charged with sixth-degree larceny for allegedly taking a bottle of Smirnoff vodka, police said.

She is due in court on Jan. 31, police said.  

Vernon police reported a similar incident on Thursday.
