Weekend Traffic Stops Keep Police Busy

Police made several DUI arrests.

Traffic stops kept Vernon police busy over the long Martin Luther King weekend.

Jorge Febus, 32, of 114 Enfield St., Hartford was charged with two signal violations, operating a motor vehicle without a license and possessing weapons in a motor vehicle, at 2:07 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

He is due on court on Tuesday, police said.



Laurence Brink, 44, of 126 Walker St., Manchester, was arrested for driving too closely and driving under the influence after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash at 12:49 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

The accident took place at Talcottville and Dobson roads, police said.

He is due in court on Jan. 23 aft being released on a $500 bond, police said.



On Friday, Jermaine Cruz, 26, of 164 Vernon Ave., Apt. 20, was pulled over for the stop sign violation, according to an arrest report.

Police said he was suspected of being intoxicated and arrested for driving under the influence in addition to the moving violation.

He was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23, police said.

The traffic stop was at 11:08 p.m., police said.
