Vernon Police Search for Armed Robbery Suspect

Police are looking for a light-skinned male who had been wearing a tan jacket and make-up to disguise his appearance when he allegedly robbed the China Taste Chinese Restaurant late Monday.

The following information was provided by the Vernon Police Department:

On Monday at 10:18 pm., the Vernon Police Department received a 911 call reporting an Armed Robbery just occurred at the China Taste Chinese Restaurant, located in the Northeast Shopping Plaza, at 75 East St. 

Vernon Police immediately responded, secured the scene and searched for the suspect. A Manchester Police K9 Unit assisted with a K9 track. The search for the suspect was unsuccessful.

Vernon Police Detective responded to the scene to assist in the investigation and process the scene.

Police learned that the suspect walked into the restaurant and pointed a gun at the women behind the counter demanding money. The suspect fled the store after taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as light skin male, approximately 6’2” tall and skinny build. The suspect was wearing a tan jacket and had on yellow lens glasses. The suspect was wearing make-up to disguise his appearance.

The suspect was last seen running on Fern Street, from Grove Street.
